Advent is a good time to do a little theological thinking about Appreciative Inquiry. So the Appreciative Space on Wednesday 10th December (19.30 -20.30 GMT) is open for that.
Our conversation starter comes courtesy of a quote from Rob Voyle – an Episcopal Priest in the USA and founder of the consultancy Appreciative Way, many years before Appreciating Church came into being:
In a nutshell: What did Jesus come for? Was it to give us less death or was it to give us life? Unfortunately, while most of our theology would say “life,” most of our applied is “less death.” Or we are working hard to have less of what we don’t want. Appreciative Inquiry is fundamentally oriented to that which is giving us life and how we can do more of it.

Fiona Thomas will facilitate the conversation. Bring your own mince pies (virtual or physical).
Held on the second Wednesday of each month (currently at 19.30 to 20.30 GMT), Appreciative Space encourages appreciative inquiry practitioners to share stories of their work with churches and other organisations as part of a self-sustaining community of practice.
The zoom link for each session is available through the members area of the Appreciating Church website. New members are welcome to register for an annual fee of £30: https://appreciating.church/register/
Email enquiries@appreciating.church if you would like to try a session before committing to membership.
