Desiring to be a bridge: Tuesday 24th February 15.00-16.00 (GMT)

As he prepares for a sabbatical visit to somewhere that is new to him, Eddie Boon is pondering how Appreciative Inquiry might shape his conversations there.

He asks: What is your experience of engaging in Appreciative Practice in a significantly different context to your own personal background? We seek, as practitioners, to come to every situation with openness and sensitivity, while recognising that this may not always be easy. Aware of the simultaneity principle, how can we do our very best to enable the language, tone and intention of our first question to be received and understood in a  culture that is both unfamiliar to us and likely to be informed by trauma?

Eddie ministers as the Discipleship Enabler for the Thames North Synod of the United Reformed Church.

Held monthly at various times and days of the week, Appreciative Space encourages appreciative inquiry practitioners to share stories of their work with churches and other organisations as part of a self-sustaining community of practice.

The zoom link for each session is available through the members area of the Appreciating Church website. New members are welcome to register for an annual fee of £30: https://appreciating.church/register/

You are welcome to email enquiries@appreciating.church if you would like to try a session before committing to membership.
